A fascinating process. Not long ago I went to research a magazine article about a company that quarries marble from a hill above a small town near Bergamo. Not surprisingly, perhaps, the stone in your pictures looks very similar to the marble I saw being quarried.

well, i think it could be the called the stone of sarnico, taken from a place close to bergamo adnd very common here.
